1 - Remove Filter From Press
If your filter looks like this, these are the steps you should after each cleaning, and every two months, to keep your filter in tip top shape.
2 - Disassemble Filter
After every use, disassemble the filter. Remove the bottom filter by twisting it, to unlock it from the top filter. Remove the top filter from the shaft by unscrewing it.
4 - Reassemble
Replace the filter. Screw the shaft (1) onto the top filter (2), then twist lock the bottom filter (3) onto the top filter (2). The twist lock feature (4) holds the two parts of the filter together. Older generation filters press together and may also have a plastic disk that sits on the filter; don't worry - just reassemble as you always would.
Most blocked filters clean up with DEEP CLEAN CLEANSER. If the filter does not clean, the mesh may have been allowed to become moldy in the past. Do not use a filter that looks like this! Please replace your filter from website (ship to US or International, or ship to Canada), or locate a vendor near you in one of our retailer tables in the top menu.
If the mesh is torn, it will not filter effectively, and could make the filter too difficult to press through the coffee safely. Do not use a filter that looks like this! Please replace your filter from website (ship to US or International, or ship to Canada), or locate a vendor near you in one of our retailer tables in the top menu.
If the o-ring doesn't firmly attach the bottom filter to the top filter, it is time to get one of our new generation twist lock filters.
