How Our Community Shaped Our Best Year Yet

2018 brought many big changes for the ESPRO team—all made possible by our fellow coffee-lovers.

Sixteen years fly by when you’re following a dream. Lucky for us, we’ve always had a (great) cup of coffee an arm’s reach away to fuel the pursuit. As 2018 comes to a close and 2019 ramps up, we wanted to press pause to reflect on some of the highlights of the year, and to thank our loyal community of caffeinated connoisseurs for making this chapter of our journey possible.

Kickstarting New Ideas

In 2011, our community enthusiastically joined our quest for the perfect cup of coffee. Our generous backers—714 of you, to be exact—helped us get our first 30 oz double-walled stainless steel press into the world through Kickstarter. Seven years (and a lot of cups of great coffee) later, you joined us on Kickstarter again to help us make the lightest 16oz vacuum-insulated, stainless steel French press brewer and hydration bottle—the Ultralight. It turned from an idea into a fully-functioning, incredibly lightweight press, capable of making a smooth, grit-free cup of coffee on the top of a mountain, on a commute, or at the beach—thanks to the help of 1,028 friends.

Joining a Bigger Family  

 In early 2018, ESPRO joined the Regal Ware family. The philosophy of both companies is built on innovation and quality in the food and beverage industries—and being part of a bigger, extended family means more support for ESPRO to thrive. We continue to operate in our hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, under the leadership of Bruce Constantine. Since joining forces with Regal Ware, we added a new warehouse in Wisconsin, a new office for our growing team in Vancouver, and more resources to help us bring innovative tools to coffee lovers around the world.

Two New Innovations are Brewing

Our product engineering team hustled to make a lot happen in 2018. As we write this, we are weeks away from bringing you two new products that will make brewing and tasting coffee an even better experience. Both products launch early 2019—we’ll be releasing sneak peaks through Instagram and Twitter, so stay tuned.

A huge thank you to each and every ESPRO fan who has joined us on this journey to make an outstanding cup of coffee. In the year ahead, we’ll continue to be fuelled by our community of passionate coffee drinkers like you—we can’t wait to see what we come up with together in 2019.
